The sergeant was waiting at the front door because he heard the tractor coming... from his seat on the tractor my dad said he was here about getting his licence, the sergeant said drive up to the top (to Queen street), turn around and come back... dad did this and when he got back to the station the said "Henry, If you can drive in from the farm on that, then you are good to have a license" and handed it to dad and sent him on his way... Obviously he knew dad.. but I don't know why... I guess everyone knew everyone back then... I guess this was in the early 50s.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
